NEVADA - Chakra bracelets, deriving inspiration from Hinduism, appear to be becoming popular among entertainment celebrities.
Singer Cheryl Cole, actress Sienna Miller, musician Kanye West, etc., have been reportedly spotted sporting Chakra bracelets.
Other celebrities who own Chakra bracelets reportedly include singers Pixie Lott and Paloma Faith; pop-musician Katy Perry; models Alexa Chung, Georgia May Jagger, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Amber Le Bon; actor Jude Law; television presenters Fearne Cotton and Jameela Jamil; actresses Drew Barrymore and Blake Lively; socialites Pixie Geldof and Olivia Palermo; etc.
Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, has urged celebrities to go beyond the superficial and explore the deep philosophical thought Hinduism offered.
Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, pointed out that he or other Hindu scholars would gladly assist the celebrities if they were interested in immersing themselves in the depths of Hinduism, its vast wisdom and philosophy.
Manufacturer of Chakra bracelets, United Kingdom based Daisy Jewellery, believes in the “concept of inclusiveness”, and sells 35 Chakras online, including Solar Plexus Chakra, Heart Chakra, Crown Chakra, etc., with 24k Gloss/Matt and Silver varieties, and prices up to $231. Daisy says that the “role of the Chakras is to aid mental and physical alignment” and adds that Solar Plexus Chakra is for “vitality, direction, self-esteem”; Crown Chakra for “intelligence, awareness, thoughtfulness”; and Heart Chakra for “love, compassion, altruism”.
Chakra (plexus) is a vortex/center of psychic energy in the subtle body at a point of contact with the physical body. Spiritual force is channeled through these nerve centers in subtle body. There are said to be 88,000 chakras in human body. Major chakras are Visuddha, Muladhara, Svadishthana, Sahasrara, Manipura, Anahata, and Ajna. (ANI)
