BHUBANESWAR - Environmental activists organized a six-day-long Wildlife Travelling Film Festival and Environment Forum here to create awareness among students.
The theme of the festival is climate change, global warming, wild life conservation, water conservation, biodiversity conservation and environmental technology.
“In the last 10 years, we have been going around the country to 19 locations, holding this kind of a weeklong festival. The festival is not merely to show the films, but films specially selected nationwide and awarded films made by Indian film producers on Indian issues,” said Vaskar Rao, Chief Organiser.
Biswajit Mohanty, a wildlife activist who was part of the forum, said the event is spreading awareness amongst students about energy conservation and global climate change.
The films screened at the festival focused on sustainable technologies, particularly green production and delivery methods, convergence and fusion of new consumer services, and on the notion of ‘collective goods’ for greater environmental efficiency, which can usher in a new green order.
“We have so many problems in our society, in our environment. We have environmental pollution. Some of the animals are going to be extinct. So, these films and programmes are creating a type of awareness among the people so that they would learn something from that and they would protect their environment from being polluted,” said Prium Sethy, a participant.
