PATNA - Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called upon all parties, including the opposition to cooperate in the development of the state.

Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, Kumar said: “”All of us together, whether we are in ruling side or opposition, we will work for Bihar and will take Bihar on the speedy path of success. Our government would like to have the cooperation of the opposition.”

“The Bihar Government is planning to enact a law to get work done within a given time frame. We will soon bring the Right to Service Bill so that the government and its agencies extend services to people within a stipulated time frame,” he said.

The new legislation will fix accountability and responsibility of officials for reaching the services required by the people,” he said.

“It is the right of the people to avail services to be provided by the state government and its agencies and lapses on the part of officials in discharge of their obligations will amount to violation of proposed act,” he added.

Referring to his election promise that the state government would ensure confiscation of property of corrupt public servants, and run schools there, Kumar said: “Applications were being filed by the prosecution agency in this connection.”

Commenting on the demand for a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) Ito the 2G scam, Kumar said: “Congress party must nod to the demand of such a probe since it would also project the essence of truth to the commoners across the country.

“This is a big scandal. People of the country would be satisfied only when there will be proper investigations,” he added. (ANI)
