Russian Foreign Minister to visit India

NEW DELHI - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will be here today on a day-long visit to discuss details of President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to the country in December.
Lavrov will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna.
Bilateral relations between the both nations have blossomed in recent years, India being one of the biggest importers of Russian military hardware.
In 2009, Russia-India trade reached the 7.5 billion dollars mark.
The biggest joint projects between the two countries today are the construction of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu and exploration of the Sakhalin-1 oil and gas field in Russia with participation of India’s state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). (ANI)
