NOIDA - Women, including teenage girls, are undergoing basic martial arts training like judo and karate here, to counter chain snatchers, robbers and eve-teasers.
Housewives and young girls at the training camp said this self-defence training would help them face odd situations boldly.
“At the time of chain snatching, we get scared and the attackers take away our jewellery. So, here we are being taught steps by which we can fight back and get them arrested. So we are being taught here how can we be fight the attackers and keep ourselves safe,” said Ritu, a trainee at the camp.
“This training camp will go on for one week. Everyday we will be taught different steps including practice sessions,” she added.
Rupa Gupta, another trainee, suggested every woman to should participate in such training.
“When we go out of our house alone, a lot of incidents of chain snatching happen. So, the steps taught by the trainer for our self-defence will be very helpful. And, we want that every woman should come out of their house and participate in the training for their self defence because it’s necessary for them,” said Gupta. (ANI)
