LONDON - British director and cameramen Nick Read has won a special award for a moving story about the lives of impoverished children in the Indian city of Mumbai.
The Rory Peck Awards pay tribute to the freelance camera operators who risk their lives to bring pictures from difficult and dangerous places.
This year’s special SONY Professional Impact Award went to Read, reports the BBC.
Read had wanted to provide a counterpoint to the hit film, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. (ANI)
