Fake currency worth Rs four lakhs seized in West Bengal

SILIGURI - West Bengal Police seized fake Indian currency worth Rs four lakhs near the Siliguri Junction Railway Station on Wednesday.

The police also took into its custody Ajit Miya (22), Haidar Ali (16) and Rahul Sheikh (14) all residents of the West Bengal’s Malda District.

“The three individuals are from Malda district of West Bengal and the money must have been brought from Bangladesh,” confirmed police authorities.

The police is also carrying out further investigation regarding the issue to disclose more suspects who are allegedly involved behind such illegal activities.

Darjeeling Superintendent of Police Debendra Pratap Singh said the money must have been brought from Bangladesh.

“Three persons name Ajit Miya, Haidar Ali and Rahul Sheikh were arrested near junction road. These accused have come from Malda to Siliguri and have been arrested from here. Indian currency of four lakhs has been detained from them,” said Singh. (ANI)
