LONDON - A couple named Wills and Kate are tying the knot on the same day as the Royal pair.
Divorcees Kate Crawford, 50, and William McTaggart, 53, will tie the knot at the 70-pound-a-night Carlton Hotel in Prestwick, Ayrshire.
“It will make our day even more special but I don’t think it will be quite as big! I had a wee feeling it was going to be the same date but it was still a shock. I’ll kill my William if he forgets our anniversary now,” the Sun quoted Kate, of nearby Dalrymple, as saying.
Homeless worker William said: “We are only having 30 people at the reception and 100 at night. I don’t think there’ll be commemorative plates. Our wedding may not be as big but it will be just as important.
“The Prince getting married on the same day has added to the occasion,” he said.
But William’s son Stuart may not make his wedding because he might be attending the Royal one - as a drummer in the Scots Guards band.
“I’ll need to phone his boss for special dispensation for him to see his old man getting wed!” the dad said.
They are not only the lucky couple to remember this royal day.
Michael Fragnito, 29, and Sarah Norrington, 27, will wed in Chelmsford, Essex. I took Sarah to Rome to propose. Unlike Kate she got a new ring! We picked a Friday wedding for budgeting reasons mainly,” Michael said.
“It was less expensive than a Saturday and our budget is nowhere near the millions they have. We’re hoping to do everything for #20,000,” he said.
Dean Hitchcock and Joanne Monk, both 28, will say “I do” in front of 120 guests near Billericay, Essex. anker Dean said: “It is like they’ve stolen our day. But I’m sure on the day we won’t even notice because we’ll be so wrapped up in our own celebrations.
“My parents got married in the same year as Charles and Diana, so perhaps it’s fate.”
Royal fan Kate Mitchell, 25, and Robert Morley, 29, have chosen Gretna Green as their location. I was a bit disappointed because I won’t be able to enjoy their day as much concentrating on my own. But I’ll Sky Plus it and keep all the papers,” starbucks worker Kate, of Seaham, Co Durham, said. (ANI)
