AURANGABAD - Around 40 children caught fever after they were administered anti-polio drops in Phulbari village in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad District over the weekend.

Medical staff visited the village to administer the drops to the children as part of the pulse polio campaign launched by the Central Government.

“Today, 130 infants were administered polio drops, but they caught fever. People showed their willingness for this after two years. After this incident, I don’t think people of my village will come forward to administer drugs to their infants again,” said Sanjay Desai, the parent of a sick child.

Dr. S.L Desmukh said that final report would be given only after the matter is investigated. By Abdul Hadi (ANI)
