LONDON - A woman television presenter has sued BBC claiming that the firm fired her for being too old.

At an employment tribunal hearing, Teresa Bogan, series producer of Countryfile, was asked if her bosses saw attractiveness as an important factor when choosing a new presenter.

“I think it (TV] is a visual medium. If they look good on screen it’s not a bad thing,” the Scotsman quoted her as saying.

Former Countryfile presenter Miriam O’Reilly, 53, is suing the BBC for sex and age discrimination after losing her job.

Bogan had recommended former Loose Women presenter Jackie Brambles fill a gap on the show because she was “pretty” and “bright”. (ANI)
