LALGARH - Security forces have come across a poster at Purnapani village in West Bengal’s Lalgarh area, which has left them in two minds and renewed the debate whether Maoist leader Kishanji is still alive or dead.

The poster, which has been signed by an unknown entity calling itself Tribal Platoon, says: “We will not allow the misuse of Shaheed Kishenji for selfish gains.”

The use of the term shaheed before Kishenji’s name has sparked off a debate, which suggests that he is dead.

“The police parties have seized some posters in which November 25 is mentioned. We will try to find out if the Maoists are planning anything for November 25 or not. Apart from that they have mentioned something about Kishenji,” NDTV quoted West Midnapore Superintendent of Police Manoj Verma, as saying.

“Shaheed Kishenji is the word used in the posters, but this is a part of the investigation. We don’t have any authentic information if Kishenji is dead or alive,” he added.

Reports have been circulating for the last few months that Kishanji was hurt and has been undergoing treatment. (ANI)
