Suspected Maoist killed in Lalgarh

LALGARH - West Bengal police on Tuesday gun downed a suspected Maoist and a seized huge cache of arms and ammunitions from his possession.

Acting on specific tip off, police along with paramilitary forces launched a operation in Baxibandh range near Lalgarh.

The encounter began at 2.30 a.m and continued for nearly two hours.

“After daylight during search operations we found the body of a suspected Maoist. Apart from that we recovered, two 303 rifles, sten gun, one licensed gun, bullets of 303, 9mm and 12 bore,” said Manoj Verma, Superintendent of Police, Medinipur. (ANI)
