Oz girl, 11, gives birth, while alleged father of baby in 30’s is arrested

SYDNEY - A girl, aged 11, from a Victorian town, has given birth to a child, while the alleged father of the baby, believed to be in his 30s, has been taken into custody.

The man, who is said to be a family friend of the girl’s grandparents, is now facing 18 criminal charges, including rape, sexual penetration of a child under 16 and assault with intent, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

According to a police spokeswoman, he was arrested on September 9 after police and the Department of Human Services (DHS) were alerted to the case.

It is believed the DHS had not had any issues involving the girl or her family until the department was alerted to her pregnancy. (ANI)
