LONDON - Former U.S. President George W Bush has admitted that the day after his presidency finished, his wife Laura told him to do the dishes.

Speaking to the chat show host Oprah Winfrey while promoting his book ‘Decision Points’, Bush, recounted anecdotes from his eight-year presidency and personal asides such as his first full day after departing the world’s most powerful job.

“So, I’m lying on the couch and (wife Laura) walks in and I say ‘free at last,’ and she says ‘you’re free all right, you’re free to do the dishes.’ So I say, ‘You’re talking to the former president, baby,’ and she said, ‘consider (this) your new domestic policy agenda,’” the Telegraph quoted Bush as saying.

Bush said he was proud of his time as president but looked at it as an important chapter in his life, and not his life.(ANI)
