Suspected Maoists kill father-son duo in West Bengal

JHARGRAM - Suspected Maoist killed two villagers in Jhargram, a subdivisional municipality in the West Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal on Sunday.

Sukhchand Mandi (55) and his son Nepal Mandi (32) were kidnapped by a group of suspected armed Maoists from their home.

The father and the son duo were gunned down from a short range. Their dead bodies were found lying on the village street of Bandhgora village in Jhargram.

It is learnt that Sukhcahand was a leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and was working as a forest department worker in Jhargram Mini Zoo. He was threatened several times by Maoists for working with CPI-M and as a police informer. (ANI)
