Ugandan President’s rap song is a hit

LONDON - Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s rap song has become a hit, with many bars and nightclubs across the country playing it.
Museveni, 66, had explained while addressing a rally for youth supporters of his ruling National Resistance Movement party in October that he recently learned about the black African roots of hip hop music.
And a few days later, while addressing a massive crowd in central Kampala, he offered a repeat performance saying “You Want Another Rap?”
A local music producer captured the phrase, added a backing track and mixed in a reply to the question that invokes the president’s vernacular nickname.
“Yes, Sevo!” the crowd can be heard shouting back in the chorus of the hit single.
While some have seen the song as a campaign tool to prove that after 25 years in power he is still a vibrant candidate, others say it’s just a way to get people on the dance floor. It’s a club banger by a big name artist,” the Telegraph quoted Peter Babu, a DJ at Soberz, a bar in Kampala, as saying.
