LONDON - Former US President George W. Bush believes that Sarah Palin was the reason behind Republican Party’s 2008 remorseful election campaign.ush reportedly told friends that the Alaska governor is not qualified to be a president and criticized John McCain for picking her as his running mate in 2008.
“Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man. He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin,” the Telegraph quoted a Republican official close to Bush, as telling the New York Daily News.
Bush has also been disparaging about Palin in the past.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey to promote his book, ‘Decision Points’, Bush restricted from any forecast of 2012 elections, in which Palin is being considered as a strong contender.
“I am not a political pundit. I’m really not. And secondly, a lot is gonna happen between now and the nominating process. I have no clue,” he said. (ANI)
