PML-N rejects ‘alliance for power’ in principle

ISLAMABAD - In a veiled reference to the unification of different factions of Pakistan Muslim League, the Nawaz League has decided in principle that it will not be part of any alliance whose aim is achieving power.
According to sources, the decision was taken at a meeting of PML-N’s Central Organising Committee presided over by Nawaz Sharif at the Punjab House on Friday, the Dawn reported.
Most of the participants dismissed talks of the PML unification, arguing that the efforts were dictated by expediency, and not national interest.
They said that they were not worried about the recent contacts between the PPP and the Q League.
After intense deliberations, the party decided that it would not join any such alliance because there was no one point agenda for the unification. (ANI)
