A whopping Rs.74 mn spent on Pakistani PM’s home, office

ISLAMABAD - A whopping Rs.74 million have been spent on renovating Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s official residence and his majestic secretariat in the past 30 months, reveal documents tabled in the National Assembly.
Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar Wednesday submitted two separate official figures for the renovation cost of the Prime Minister’s House and the PM Secretariat, the Express Tribune reported Thursday.
The PM House renovation cost more than double the money spent on the PM Secretariat.
Kakar told the house that in the last 30 months, Rs.50.3 million were spent on the PM House.
The documents show that Rs.6.6 million were spent on assets, Rs.6.5 million on minor works, Rs.37.1 million on repairs, maintenance material and work by contract.
The minister said another Rs.23.85 million were spent on the renovation of the PM Secretariat. A sum of Rs.1.6 million was spent on assets, Rs.2.6 million on minor works and Rs.19.57 million on repairs and maintenance.
