KUALA LUMPUR - Actress Shantini Theva, who is the rising star of several south Indian movies, has returned to her hometown of Banting in Malaysia to celebrate Deepavali.

Shantini, 25, who made her debut in the award-winning movie Nadodigal, had been born and brought up in Banting, and she says that she cannot stay away from home for long.

“I cannot be away for long from Banting and that is why I make it a point to return home as many times as possible,” the Star Online quoted her as saying.

“I lead a hectic life in India and coming home to Banting is relaxing and makes me feel very happy,” she added.

She will return to Chennai on November 20 in time to star in a Tamil movie, which features one of India’s top stars of the 80s, Raj Kiran. (ANI)
