LONDON - A woman in Britain has revealed how she found out through the Internet that her husband, who she had been married to for 21-years, was a bigamist with lovers on three continents.
Diane Petty, 55, said she typed her husband’s name into an Internet search engine to learn more about his company, but was instead shocked to discover the many secret lives he had been living.irst she learnt that Roderick Petty, who is the father of her son, had recently married a second woman in Bahrain during a year working away from home.
Details of the ceremony were posted on the website of the cathedral where it took place and, when she contacted the chaplain, he confirmed he had been duped into conducting the bigamist wedding.
As she delved deeper, she learnt that at the time of this second marriage he was also engaged to a third woman, his old school friend Lorinda Stirling, and was planning an intimate wedding with her on a Florida beach.
And while romancing Stirling, he found time to carry on an affair with a fourth woman, exchanging racy text messages.
“What Roderick did is unforgivable, and I never want to see him ever again. The web of lies this man wove was just incredible,” the Daily Mail quoted the Windsor-born former BA airhostess as saying.
“None of us knew about the other secret lives he was leading. I felt stupid that I’d trusted him all these years. My faith in men and relationships has been shattered.
“This man has ruined my life, and that of my son, who refuses to speak to him. He’s a coward and a liar and he should be punished for what he’s done,” she added.
Stirling said she got engaged to Petty, whom she knew from school, after meeting up with him when he returned to Florida to arrange his Saudi Arabia visa.
She had no idea about his other wives and was planning a life with him, but broke off the engagement when she discovered a saucy text message from yet another woman.
“He is evil, it is as simple as that. When I confronted him about his other women he laughed. He clearly enjoys the whole experience of playing with people’s lives and affections,” Stirling said.
Alan Hayday, the chaplain who conducted the wedding in Bahrain, said he was ‘horrified’ to learn Petty already had a wife.
Kaminavasova added: “I think Roderick is a mentally sick person and he needs the help of a doctor.” (ANI)
