Why Brits spend a year of their lives just parking the car

LONDON - A new study from the UK has found that Britons spend a year of their lives just driving back and forth to park their cars.
The average Briton devotes the equivalent of 25 minutes a day, or 152 hours a year, to searching for spaces - adding up to almost 11 months if they hold a license for 50 years.
Not just that, the search also costs the typical motorist 120 pounds in petrol every year.
Almost half of the 9,000 drivers polled by National Car Parks said they wouldn’t even attempt to park in a space if another car was waiting behind them, with women the most likely to feel intimidated.
A forgetful 44 per cent even owned up to ‘losing’ their car on at least one occasion, according to the poll by National Car Parks.
“As a nation in general, we are not very good parkers. You see some cars parked so far from the kerb that you almost need a canoe to paddle to the pavement. A few parking lessons wouldn’t go amiss,” The Daily Mail quoted Edmund King, president of the AA, as saying. (ANI)
