ROHTAK - Farmers incurred huge loss due to an unseasoned rain and snowfall devastating the wheat crop in Haryana’s Rohtak District.

“We have lost the reaped crop. We had never seen such a snowfall. You can see that all the crops are destroyed now. And further, how we will return the bank loan is more troubling us,” said Jaidev, a farmer.

Farmers now seek financial assistance from the government in a bid to overcome the huge loss.

“Paddy is so badly destroyed in the field that to plough the next crop we need to hire the labourers. All the other types of crops of this season are also mostly damaged,” said Layakram, a farmer.

“So, we want the government to uplift the farmers and provide us an adequate compensation else the farmers are now ready to commit suicide,” he added. By Dherender Kumar (ANI)
