NEW YORK - Artist Fernando Botero seems to be happy with the way New Yorkers interact with his 12-foot-tall bronze sculpture of a naked Adam at the Time Warner Center mall.

Passers-by can’t seem to resist the corpulent but underendowed nude gracing the Shops at Columbus Circle’s atrium.

In fact, so many hands have rubbed Adam’s penis that it has turned a shade of gold, making it stand out against the rest of the statue’s dark brown.

“That people react to the sculpture and want to interact with it is very good,” the New York Post quoted Botero as saying.

“That means [its] sensuality has been communicated. The gesture of the people reinforces the gesture of the artist,” Botero added. (ANI)
