NEW DELHI - The 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games Organising Committee has again come under scanner, after the Sports Ministry has asked its Communications Head Priya Singh Paul for the details of the recruitment process during the XIX Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

The Sports Ministry has also asked Paul for the details of two other senior officials-Sangeet Valenter, who is the Head of Image of the OC and Raj Kumar Sacheti, who is the Joint Director of OC and a close aide of Suresh Kalmadi.

“Despite whatever the media is talking about. I am proud to work for CWG. I came in January and turned the image of the CWG. Shera became highly promoted because of the Communications Department. I have worked for 20 years in media in Mumbai. I have worked with big names in the industry and have created number of world class concepts for the media,” Paul told a TV channel.

“I was professionally qualified to head the entire department. I am not affiliated with any political party. For us to make the OC look good, we created a lot of communications. We created events around which CWG would be spoken about. We always put the athletes in front and head of politicians,” she added.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also started probing the broadcast scam involving Prasar Bharti CEO B S Lalli.

It is also probing the UK-based company, which came under the scanner for alleged tax evasion.

The UK Company bagged the rupees 246 crore broadcast contract for Commonwealth Games. (ANI)
