LONDON - A girl in the US has been kicked off a cheerleading squad after she complained to her coach that she did not feel comfortable shaking her booty.

According to Fox News, Fayleen Frampton, 11, was ousted from the juniors in Ashland, Nebraska, when she objected to the words in one of the Blue Jays’ routines.

“She had mentioned to the coach earlier in the year that she didn’t like it. She felt it didn’t have anything to do with the team as far as offense and defense goes,” the Daily Mail quoted her mother Sabrina as saying.

“Being the older girl on the squad this year, she felt a little more uncomfortable shaking her booty than the other girls.

“I’m proud she had a voice and she used it,” she stated.

Fayleen, who had been with the cheerleaders for four years, had objected to the phrase: “Jump, shake your booty, jump, jump, shake your booty.”

When she spoke up, coach Tina Harris told her it was “not her decision to make”, and banned her from the last two games of the season.

Harris told WOWT.com the cheer is a crowd-pleaser and that she had never received any complaints before.

She told NBC that she did not find the cheer sexually suggestive or objectionable, but confirmed she dropped it for the last games.

“I just thought it was best to ask her (Fayleen) not to participate for the last few games,” she added. (ANI)
