ANI cameraman hurt in encounter between militants, Army in Kashmir

MALOORA SUMBAL - An Asian News International (ANI) cameraman was injured on Thursday during an encounter between security forces and miltants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Maloora area, which is about 15 kilometers from Srinagar.
Sajid Ahmad was injured as militants exploded a grenade in the lawns.
The encounter, which has been going on since 9: 30 a.m. this morning, is still on.
“Three to four militants are trapped inside a house at Maloora, who are exchanging fire with army and special operation group. The army and police have evacuated the civilians to safety before launching the operation,” said Ghulam Muhammad, a local resident.
The police and the army cordoned off the Zari Mohalla in Maloora, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sumbal police station.
The police and troops of the 2Rashtriya Rifles launched the joint operation against the Jaish-e-Mohammad militants. (ANI)
