ISLAMABAD - A suspected suicide bomber was killed after police opened fire on the explosives-laden jeep he was driving in northwest Pakistan, police said.
A police official revealed that the teenage boy had been driving his vehicle to Lakki city, 30 km away, when he was asked to stop at the checkpoint, the BBC reported.
Officers waved to the boy to pull over as he drove towards the checkpoint in the Janikhel area of Lakki Marwat district, but he changed his direction and sped off.
Police said they shot at the Toyota Surf jeep and it blew up, killing the driver, who was about 13-15 years old.
While the blast injured three passers-by, and three houses and a shop were also damaged in the explosion.
Earlier in September, a suicide bomb attack on a police station in Lakki had killed 15 people, including seven policemen. (ANI)
