Monmouth trysting place of Admiral Nelson and his mistress discovered

LONDON - Archaeologists have unearthed the trysting place of Admiral Nelson and his mistress.
The team of excavators is now hoping they can rebuild the summer house that provided the backdrop to an illicit romance between Britain’s greatest ever naval hero and his aristocratic mistress, WalesOnline.co.uk.
They have discovered the foundations of the house at Monmouth’s historic Nelson Garden during work to renovate the Grade II-listed green space.
The original summer house was demolished in 1958 and replaced with the Nelson Pavilion to commemorate the visit by the Admiral, his lover Lady Emma Hamilton and her husband Sir William during a trip to the nearby Kymin naval college.
Now conservationists say if photographs of the original property could be unearthed then a rebuild of the summer house in the garden tucked away behind a branch of Lloyds TSB may be possible. (ANI)
