LONDON - A Pennsylvania town has offered prospective homeowners a good deal-a free house, if they can remove and take it away.

East Manchester acquired the three-bedroom ranch-style house for the land it is made on. It needed this land for future expansion of municipal facilities.

Officials found it cheaper to give the house away than refit it for rental.

“The house really isn’t A-1,” the BBC quoted public works director David Gentzler.

“We don’t want to get into the rental business.

“In order to make the house liveable it would have needed more money than we felt was reasonable to fix it up,” he said.

Hence the officials decided that anyone who can move it and clear the land could have it.

“If somebody takes it we will save thousands,” added Gentzler.

The estimated cost of the house is about 60,000 dollars. (ANI)
