LONDON - Britain faces a serious threat to its national security from cyber attacks, the top official of a spy agency has said.
Government Communications Headquarters director, Iain Lobban, said electronic sabotage could cripple the country.
He warned that every person in the country was at risk from e-crime, Daily Express reported Wednesday.
Lobban pointed out that the government is bombarded every month by 20,000 malicious emails.
Cyber attacks could cost Britain a figure well into the billions, he said, adding: Hundreds of hacking forums exist. On them thousands of stolen UK credit card details are available for sale online for about two US dollars per set.”
