AURANGABAD - Municipal Corporation officials have seized and destroyed thousands of adulterated milk packets, being brought in tankers from Ahmednagar District to Aurangabad District.

The Department of Health in Aurangabad and the Department of Food and Drugs conducted a search operation and seized the adulterated milk consignment.

The adulterated milk packets came in from Shriram, Dwarka and Dhruvtara companies, and were crushed.

“From yesterday night, at around 11:30, we started this operation. We had posted our workers at two centers. We checked all tankers and took milk samples from them, and on receiving the result of the test, we took action on them. The contaminated milk has been brought here to be destroyed,” said Kishore Nagre, Head of the health department, in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation.

Around three lakh litres of milk are brought into Aurangabad District every day from Ahmadnagar District.

Another search operation is expected to take place in the next few days. By Abdul Hadi (ANI)
