ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Foreign Ministry has stated that India was only concerned about discussing its own areas of interest during the foreign minister-level meeting in July this year.

“At the July meeting, India was willing to move on areas of its interests- trade and commerce, friendly exchanges, people-to-people contact, but not keen on areas of interest to Pakistan- Kashmir, Siachen, peace and security,” the Daily Times quoted the ministry, as saying in the Lower House, in reply to a question raised by Marvi Memon.

It added that Pakistan’s approach was to build on the progress achieved during the last few years under the composite dialogue process.

“Pakistan wishes to resolve all outstanding issues peacefully and in a just manner. We continue to advocate for the resumption of the composite dialogue process for resolution of all outstanding issues with India, including meetings on Kashmir, peace and security and Siachen,” the ministry further said.
