LONDON - Christine O’Donnell, the Republican Senate candidate, has been accused of lying about studying at the Oxford University.
O’Donnell included the University of Oxford on the “education” section of her CV on the business networking website LinkedIn.
She just mentioned that she had studied “Post Modernism in the New Millennium” at the prestigious British institution, but gave no other details.
It has been found out that the course was not run by Oxford, but Phoenix Institute, an educational group that runs summer courses in rooms at universities, including Oxford.
“We never represented it as a course run by Oxford University,” The Telegraph quoted Chris Fletcher, an assistant professor of religious studies at Benedictine University, Illinois, who oversaw the 2001 programme at Oxford.
O’Donnell is competing for the US Senate seat that Joe Biden, the US Vice-President, held for 36 years before stepping down. She has received sharp criticism from some of her political opponents, who have claimed she holds extreme views that are not shared by most voters. (ANI)
