Pa. baby hit in head by bullet piece from upstairs
READING, Pa. — Police say a baby has been struck in the head by a bullet fragment that came from the floor above him inside a Pennsylvania home.
The boy was struck by the fragment Sunday night in Reading (REH’-ding), an hour’s drive northwest of Philadelphia. Police say a man on the second floor of the home fired a gun into the floor and a bullet fragment went through to the first floor, striking 2-month-old Michael Johnson.
A neighbor drove the baby and his mother to a hospital. The baby then was airlifted to another hospital. He was listed in critical condition early Monday.
Police say the boy’s mother told them the gun went off accidentally. They’re looking for the man they say fired the shot.
