Airports with agreements for hangar homes
WASHINGTON — The Federal Aviation Administration wants to deny federal aid to public airports that enter into new agreements allowing private plane owners with “hangar homes” adjacent to airfields to taxi directly from their property onto tarmacs. The 72 airports with existing agreements would still be eligible for grants under FAA’s $3.5 billion annual airport improvement program, but agency officials are scrutinizing those airports to see if their current arrangements with hangar homes violate past grant conditions.
The policy doesn’t apply to private airparks, which don’t receive federal grants.
The public airports with such “through-the-fence” agreements are:
