PESHAWAR - At least five militants were killed in a US drone attack in the tribal belt of North Waziristan in Pakistan.
According to The Daily Times, three missiles were fired at a house in Dattakhel, a town controlled by terrorists who regularly launch cross-border attacks against NATO troops in Afghanistan.
The identities of the terrorists were not known, but an intelligence official said that those killed in the strike were associated with the Haqqani network.
An unrelenting series of US missile attacks have pounded North Waziristan this month.
According to Pakistani intelligence reports, 14 missile strikes have killed over 65 people since September 2. Many have struck in and around Dattakhel, which has a population of about 40,000 people.
Until now, the highest number of airstrikes in a single month had been the 11 launched in January this year. (ANI)
