NEW DELHI - The United States Sunday issued a security advisory for its citizens in India asking them to “maintain a heightened situational awareness” following a shooting near the historic Jama Masjid in which two Taiwanese tourists were injured.

“US citizens are urged to always practice good security, maintain a heightened situational awareness and a low profile. US citizens are advised to monitor local news reports and consider the level of security present when visiting public places, including religious sites,” said the advisory posted on the US embassy website.
