NEW DELHI / AMRITSAR - Miffed over being neglected by the party leadership for Jharkhand chief ministership, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha resigned as the party in-charge for Punjab state here on Thursday.

Sinha is learnt to have conveyed to the party that he did not have time for this additional responsibility, an NDTV report stated.

A Member of Parliament from Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, Sinha was disappointed for not being considered for the Jharkhand Chief Minister’s post.

Arjun Munda was sworn in as the Jharkhand Chief Minister last week with the reported nod of BJP President Nitin Gadkari.

The formation of the BJP government in coalition with Jharkhand Janmukti Morcha (JMM) in Jharkhand state, however, did not have party’s Parliamentary Board’s approval. None of the senior leaders of the Board had attended the swearing-in ceremony. (ANI)
