TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — Police say at least 15 people are dead in Honduras after gunmen burst into a shoe factory and opened fire.

At least eight people, all believed to be employees, are being treated for wounds suffered in the attack on the small factory.

National police spokesman Leonel Sauceda says the motive in the attack is still under investigation, noting “it was a massacre.”

The shooting occurred on Tuesday in the Caribbean coastal city of San Pedro Sula.
