LONDON - Budget airline Ryanair is thinking of axing co-pilots and train airhostesses to land planes in a crisis.

Boss Michael O’Leary reckons a second pilot is a waste of money.

“Why does every plane have two pilots? You only need one,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

“Let’s take out the second pilot. Let the bloody computer fly it,” he added.

Asked about what would happen if the pilot had a heart attack, he said: “A hostess could take over.”

Jim McAuslan, general secretary of the British Airline Pilots’ Association, described O’Leary’s suggestion as “totally preposterous”. (ANI)
