Mercedes-Benz says August sales up 15 percent

MONTVALE, N.J. — Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz USA said Wednesday that its August sales rose 15 percent, helped by sales of its lower end C-Class sedan.
BY THE NUMBERS: Mercedes-Benz sold 19,674 vehicles in the month, up from 17,122 a year ago.
TOP SELLERS: The automaker sold 6,100 C-Class vehicles.
HOT MODELS: Sales of the C-Class, which is one of the smaller and cheaper Mercedes-Benz vehicles, were 47 percent higher in the month.
