Malay Indian fugitive Soosai arrested

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 31 (ANI): Indian police have confirmed that a Malaysian man who was arrested for murder in Andhra Pradesh is Michael Soosai.

He is also wanted in Malaysia in connection with a forged cheques case amounting to RM1million in 2001 and for faking his death before fleeing to India.

Tamil Nesan reported that the identification of the man, who is using the name Karuna Raj, was confirmed by Coimbatore District police chief Commissioner Dr Sailendra Babu.

Dr Sailendra said the man and his wife, Rajeswari, were detained last Thursday, and were being held for questioning in Kovai.

The newspaper said other details were expected to emerge once the police started questioning the couple.

It said police had also detained three others to investigate a report by 32-year-old Pradip Philipbose, who claimed that the couple had cheated him after promising a job in Singapore, The Star reports. (ANI)
