‘Person of interest’ in Kan. girl’s death in court

GREAT BEND, Kan. — A man authorities have called a ‘person of interest’ in the death of a 14-year-old central Kansas girl is set to appear in court on theft and vehicular burglary charges.

Adam Joseph Longoria is scheduled to be in court Monday on charges related to a vehicle stolen from the asphalt plant where Alicia DeBolt’s charred body was found Tuesday.

Alicia left her house at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 21 to go to a party. Her family reported her missing the next afternoon.

About 2,000 people turned out for a candlelight vigil Sunday night to remember the teen who was known as “Babygurl” to her friends.

Those who knew Alicia say she was a vivacious teen who loved bright colors and preferred flip flops to other shoes.
