NEW YORK - Glenn Beck, a controversial TV and radio talk show host, has stepped back from his allegations which he made against the US President Barack Obama by calling him a “racist” during a rally organised by him on Sunday in Washington, and added that Obama is just a “Marxist.”

“It shouldn’t have been said. I have a big fat mouth sometimes and I say things, and that’s not the way people should behave. And it was not accurate,” the New York Daily News quoted Beck, as saying.

“He’s not racist, he’s just a ‘Marxist.’ He is a guy who understands the world through liberation theology,” he added.

Beck now claims that he misspoke when he said the Commander-in-Chief had a “deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”

The commentator earlier, insisted that Obama was linked with black liberation theology, which is a race-specific version of the belief, through his relationship with Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the controversial former pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. (ANI)
