PHILADELPHIA — The executive director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority may be put on leave while the agency investigates secret settlements of at least four sexual harassment complaints.
The city has paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to settle claims that executive director Carl Greene harassed female employees. Records released Thursday also show the housing authority has spent millions in outside legal fees.
The 53-year-old Greene has mostly dropped out of sight since news broke this month he was battling financial problems and sexual harassment complaints.
The agency’s board is expected to vote Thursday on a resolution to put Greene on leave while it investigates. His lawyer says Greene is out-of-state undergoing medical care for several weeks.
