Omar Abdullah prays for peace at Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti shrine in Ajmer

AJMER - Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah offered prayers at the shrine of Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti here for peace in the Kashmir Valley.

Omar Abdullah, accompanied by his father Farooq Abdullah and other family members offered ‘chadar’ to the tomb of Garib Nawaj on Monday

Omar told media after ‘jiyarat’ that he came to the Dargah only to pray to Garib Nawaj for peace in the Valley.

“There was only one purpose for the visit to Dargah; (it) was to pray for situation to improve in Kashmir, restoration of peace in the Valley. I hope the almighty will bring back peace and harmony in Kashmir,” he added.

The Kashmir Valley is reeling under frequent incidents of violence with people clashing with the security personnel. (ANI)
