Interest rates steady as traders remain cautious
NEW YORK — Interest rates are near their lowest level of the year as investors remain unsure about the health of the economy.
Not even a new round of corporate dealmaking was enough to spark investors to give up their positions in Treasurys in favor of stocks.
The yield on the 10-year Treasury note is down to 2.61 percent from 2.62 percent late Friday. That yield helps set interest rates on mortgages and other consumer loans.
