ISLAMABAD - Taking strong note of the brutal murder of two brothers by a mob in Sialkot and torture of female students of Bahawalpur Medical college, Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the concerned authorities to take immediate action over the two shocking incidents.
A statement issued by the Presidency quoted Zardari, as expressing his displeasure over the incidents, adding that such brutal acts should not go unpunished.
He condemned the police torture on female students of a medical college in Bahawalpur and directed the Punjab government to hold an immediate inquiry into the matter and take strong action against the police officials involved in the “indecent act.”
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who visited the home of two brothers Mughees (17) and Muneeb (15) alongwith Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, termed Sialkot-incident as a “national dilemma” while stating that all those involved in the heinous act, including police personnel, would be punished strictly.
“The killers of both the brothers would be hanged at the very place, where they were tortured to death,” The Nation quoted Malik, as saying. (ANI)
