PUNE - Infosys chairman and chief mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy has urged the armed forces to become the instrument of change for weeding out obsolete dogmas and stagnant mindsets to enable India become a force to reckon with among the leading countries in the world.

“The armed forces are one of the last bastions in which the nation has complete faith. So, it is the duty of each of the cadets to uphold the values and supplement this belief,” Murthy said while addressing the cadets of the elite National Defence Academy (NDA) here late Friday.

Expressing his firm belief in the concept of change, Murthy stressed the need for uprooting corruption, weeding out outdated principles and stagnant mindsets to enable the nation become a force in the international arena.

“Education is the only way to improve society, I urge you to go ahead and make the most of your training, go forth and become the instrument of change,” Murthy exhorted the young cadets, speaking on ‘Leadership and the expectations of the nation from the armed forces’.

Murthy confessed that the discipline inculcated in the NDA always inspired him and it is something that the nation could also learn from.

Commandant of NDA, Vice Admiral Satish Soni welcomed the distinguished speaker and presented him to the cadets.
